Seiko Masterpiece Limited Edition 7T59-F010 – The Pinnacle of Chronographs!
Seiko's 7T59 "Masterpiece" series, produced in the early 1990s, represents the brand's pinnacle in quartz chronographs. This model holds a special place in collectors' circles for both its technical features and its limited production.
This watch is the 982nd in a series limited to 2,500 pieces worldwide. Its most important feature is undoubtedly the 7T59 caliber. The 7T59 caliber had a short but glorious life from 1991 to 1993 and remains one of the most complex movements ever produced for the consumer segment in analog watches. Seiko's 7A28/38 is often considered superior, but let's not forget that the 7T59 is the only analog 1/100-second chronograph to offer day + date + GMT functions. No watch in Seiko's current lineup, which includes Coutura, Sportura, Premier, and even Velatura, offers this much. We can't find a watch like this in any other brand's catalog.

Seiko Japan claimed they created the 7T59 to prove to the world that this was possible. The reason for its discontinuation was the popularity of digital watches, which offered the same functionality at a much lower price. It's true that the 7T59 series was expensive at the time, with typical street prices ranging from $750 to $1,000 depending on the model. Calculating the purchase cost of the 7T59 in constant US dollars over 20 years, the Masterpiece's starting price of $2,200 in 1992 would be equivalent to $3,500 in 2012. The 7T59s are also associated with the 1992 Olympics. Seiko was the official timekeeper of the Barcelona Summer Games and ran an advertising campaign to highlight the precision of the Olympic events, as well as its 1/100th-second chronograph technology. The watch does not have a pin header at the bottom and therefore its price is quite affordable.
