Seiko Marvel (Laurel) J14014. Mystery watches are watches with non-standard hands in which the function of the hour and minute display is mysterious, and these variations were quite popular in Japan in the late 50s. Seiko initially made a version based on the Laurel, which was one of the most preferred variants. But very interestingly, it was recently discovered that Seiko was selling very few copies under the Laurel series, which has the same mysterious dial. This rare model that we offer to our valued customers is a Marvel example that has remained in a drawer unused despite the past 66 years. This Marvel mystery dial is identical to the Laurel version, and both models share the same case code J14014. This product is powered by the 17J Diashock manual winding movement. This watch with a mysterious dial is full of oddities, like an optical illusion without the slightest flaw. This is exactly another reason why watches are considered works of art. Several variations of these Mystery models were produced, but this example particularly stands out due to its glossy gray dial with ten indexes that act as indices on the main plate, giving the illusion of a radial surface. The leather bracelet on this product has never been used and is as good as the first day it was produced. This is truly a very rare collectible item and it seems unlikely that we will be able to offer something like this again anytime soon.
