Seiko Lassale 2F50-0180 - An Era Where Delicacy Becomes a Design Element
At first glance simple; but upon closer inspection, a Lassale that carries far more detail than a typical women's watch.
The character of this model is defined not by a single element, but by the fact that the entire design is built on refinement. The slender round case, the wide metal ring surrounding the case, the gold-toned links at four points, and the two-tone bracelet that continues seamlessly from there, do not appear as independent pieces, but as a continuation of a single design.
Its true beauty is revealed when you hold the watch in your hand.

Dial and Design
Although the light-colored dial appears quite minimalist at first glance, under light it reveals its extremely fine, slightly shimmering texture. Large indices are not used on the dial; instead, small gold-toned hour markers and two extremely thin gold hands have been preferred. One of the most characteristic design details of the 2F50-0180 is the relocation of the Roman numerals to the metal ring surrounding the dial, rather than directly onto the dial itself.

The four gold-toned link elements at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions are not merely decorative; they are a visual part of the architecture connecting the case to the bracelet. The Roman numerals on these elements, combined with the surrounding indices, give the watch a unique identity reminiscent of period jewelry designs, rather than a classic dress watch look.
The continuation of steel and gold tones throughout the bracelet completes this overall look.

Seiko 2F50 - Not Just Quartz, but a 1.3 mm Movement

The refinement in this watch's design is no accident. Inside is Seiko's 2F50 analog quartz caliber. This 12-jewel movement has a diameter of only 15.1 mm and a remarkably thick thickness of just 1.3 mm. The caliber, using 32,768 Hz quartz regulation, has a period specification of ±15 seconds accuracy per month.
Such a fine mechanism allows the designer to create a case that is not only small but also extremely delicate in proportion. This is precisely one of the elements that defines the character of the Lassale on the wrist.
The fact that the reference 2F50-0180 is registered in Seiko's own parts system with separate case, dial, and metal bracelet codes also confirms the correct reference of the model.

Condition - What Makes This Example Really Special
In a vintage watch, the second most important aspect, besides the model itself, is how it has survived to this day.
This is where the strength of our example comes into play.
The case, dial, and original two-tone bracelet are extremely well preserved. But when we turn the watch over, we encounter a much nicer detail: the Hattori Seiko-printed blue factory protective film is still on the case back.
This detail is particularly important. Because the fact that a factory-designed protective cover, intended to be removed, is still on the watch decades later is one of the finest physical details we have today regarding the preservation of this example.

Therefore, there's no need to add a story to the watch. Its condition already tells its own story.

Original Set
The watch comes not alone, but with a period-appropriate Lassale presentation.
The original Lassale inner and outer boxes, instruction manuals, warranty papers, and period documents related to Hattori Seiko are preserved in the set. It is quite common for boxes and paperwork to separate from the watch over the years, especially in vintage Japanese watches. Therefore, the fact that these materials have survived along with the watch itself makes the 2F50-0180 more than just a beautiful Lassale; it becomes a highly complete collector's item.

Final Thoughts
What makes the Seiko Lassale 2F50-0180 interesting is not its attempt at ostentation; it's how it manages to create such a distinct design identity with so few materials.
The slim structure made possible by the 1.3 mm thick 2F50 movement, the unusual case architecture with four-point bracelet attachment, the controlled use of steel and gold tones, and the almost jewel-scale dial details create a design that is easily recognizable even today. But there's something more to this example: the pieces of the watch's story are still together.
Its box, papers, original bracelet, and even the Hattori Seiko-printed factory protective film have survived to this day, setting it apart from an ordinary vintage Lassale.

You can find some vintage watches again. Finding the same watch again in the same condition is much harder.

The model you are viewing was manufactured in 1988.
