Produced shortly after Seiko launched the new era of watchmaking with the Quartz Astron in 1969, the EL-330 belongs to a unique period when the brand was exploring future watch technologies through various avenues.
The Calibre 3303A movement inside the watch is not a quartz mechanism. It utilizes a traditional balance system featuring nine jewels and operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour but replaces the mainspring with a battery and an electrical drive system.
