Although some sources on the internet say that it was produced for the 1990 Italy World Cup, this information is not true. The watch's dial features the flags of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. These countries are South American countries and Seiko produced this watch specifically for the Federation to which these countries are affiliated.
