He collaborated with Seiko to create the Asterisk watch series, which was produced from 1988 to 1991. The Asterisk watches were distinguished by their unique and elegant designs that reflected Watanabe's creative philosophy of "there is only beauty." The Asterisk series included both men's and women's models, all featuring a distinctive star-shaped dial.
