Produced in 1997 exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, this extraordinary model combines Disney's most iconic character, Mickey Mouse, with Seiko's technical watchmaking expertise. Rarely encountered even by collectors today, this model is part of a limited series of only 1997 pieces. The example we are offering for sale is watch number 1892 from the series, with this numbering clearly visible on the case back.
The walking Mickey figure at the bottom of the dial, combined with the world map theme and city ring, gives the model a unique character. Beneath its playful appearance lie some quite interesting technical details.
The time is set using the crown at the 4 o'clock position, while the second crown at the 2 o'clock position controls the internal rotating globe ring. The most striking feature of this model is the pop-up magnetic compass mechanism located in the lower part of the case. When not in use, this compass is concealed within the case; however, when needed, it can be opened to assist with direction finding, giving the model a unique character.
This example is presented with its original limited edition box, instruction manual, certificate, and sales tag. Such a complete set is quite rare today.
Even though the original strap on the watch is unused, it is not suitable for daily use due to its approximately 28-year age. Therefore, the product will be shipped with a new strap made of high-quality calfskin leather.
