The term "Rado Silverlepor" refers to a rare and old wristwatch model produced by the Rado brand. This model is particularly known for its thin case and silver construction. The name "Silverlepor" is derived from the Latin words "lepus", meaning silver and "rabbit". This emphasizes the elegance and lightness of the watch. What you are looking at is a thin and elegant unisex dress watch produced by Rado in the mid-1970s; this Silverlepor model has a number of unusual features not found on many Rado watches. The first of these is a very thin case made of solid silver. At the time this watch was produced, Rado watches generally used stainless steel cases (many had scratch-proof tungsten carbide bezels) and bold, crazy dials with 3D markers. Relatively few mechanical Rado watches were produced with simple dials and cases made of precious metal. Rado 847 (Longines calibre L847)Another interesting feature of this watch is its 2.5 mm thick hand-wound movement supplied by Longines. The Longines calibre L847 is a very thin and high-quality movement. Rado also used the Peseux (now ETA) calibre 7001 in some of its hand-wound dress watches from this period; the reason for choosing this high-quality Longines movement for this model is unknown. There is no official documentation of the collaboration between the two companies at the time, but there is speculation among the Rado collector community that this was simply a partnership formed by the merging of various watchmaking houses that would eventually form the S w a tc h G r o u p (including Longines, Certina, Rado, ETA and others). The existing example of the Rado/Longines calibre L847 is numbered; something that was previously only seen in chronometer-certified Rado movements. It is assumed that this movement was not submitted for chronometer certification; because there is no indication of chronometer certification on the dial or case, and it is common practice at Longines to number the movements. (This information is from Watch carrefully) The product you are reviewing was produced in 1975.

PROFESSIONAL FULL SERVICE. Since the mechanism is completely disassembled, every part is cleaned, oiled and its sensitivity is adjusted, your watch will work without any negative surprises. (It does not require maintenance for 5 years unless exposed to adverse conditions.)
