Seiko Lord Matic Silverwave 5216-8040

The Seiko Lord Matic Silverwave is a very rare product produced by Seiko in the 1970s. Although there are many different models of Lord Matic today, we do not come across the Lord Matic Silver Wave model very often. The 5216-8040 is one of the rare Seiko Lord Matic models with the Silverwave signature. The Seiko Silverwave family is known as the first Seiko watch group suitable for diving (or light diving). Like most Silverwave models, the 5216-8040 also has a screw-down crown and case back.
When all models equipped with the 52** family caliber with the "Special" signature on the dial are examined, it is interesting that Seiko removed the "Special" signature above the 6 to make room for the "Silverwave" signature. We can think that Seiko was trying to prevent the dial from looking complicated with this move.
